What is Hoarseness?
Hoarseness is any change in the normal sound of your voice. Many people think that a rough sounding voice is normal but it may signal disease of your vocal cords or elsewhere.
How is hoarseness evaluated?
You will have a complete evaluation of your voice, examination of your head and neck as well as a thorough exam of your vocal cords and throat using advanced digital imaging equipment. Dr. Beaver uses digital videostroboscopy to examine the vibratory characteristics of each vocal folds as well as detail the appearance and movement of the vocal folds.
How would my hoarseness be treated?
Depending on your diagnosis, you may require medication, therapy, or a surgical procedure to improve your voice and treat any disease.
